Blog: A time to reflect

on

Happy New Year! I hope 2021 brings good health and happiness to you all.

Over the Christmas break, I was watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special from 2019 with my wife. It triggered a conversation as to how different “our world” was just 12 months ago when we had watched it previously.

My initial thought was that I hadn’t achieved much in 2020, I’d not travelled as much as I’d wanted, I spent so much time at home and I’d been very restricted as to where I could go and who I could see. It was turning into a negative conversation from my part.

My wife made me see if from a completely different angle though, she saw it very differently to me. We’ve both worked full time all the way through the pandemic whilst homeschooling our 2 children for 5 months. That is a massive achievement. We also have health and jobs, whereby many aren’t so fortunate.

I’ve found wellbeing to be a passion of mine, I’ve been very fortunate to work alongside James to launch Better Days Wellbeing and I’m looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us. Winning the Wellbeing award was another big achievement.

Running has been a constant for me. It’s done wonders for both my physical and more importantly, my mental health. I’m very happy with the 1264 miles I covered in 2020.

We’ve all faced challenges in 2020 but we’ve come through it. That in itself is an achievement. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for us all.
