I hope you all had a great weekend.
For me, it was quite a busy one. Yet on paper, it would look like I did nothing. I finally reorganised my home gym into a more organised structure and on with some work towards the new life coaching course I am developing too. I also enjoyed a glass of wine whilst gaming, and my cat Pudding fell asleep on my shoulder.
These are the little things in life. Yes big things are important, and are the things that tend to stand out as memories. Such as this week I will be attending an award ceremony at work where we are shortlisted under the wellbeing category. But then my cat fell asleep on my shoulder, and I felt super relaxed. That’s a little thing, but also brought me joy too.
Sure the big life stuff is important, but when you are counting up what makes you happy or what you value, do not forget the little things. My cat KitKat has a greeting meow every time I walk into a room, the time I get to spend exercising, my escapism with gaming and tv. These are the little things, but they form the positives in my life that really matter.
If you are worrying about the future, one of the best things you can do is bring yourself into the now. Right here, right now. Stop. Focus on what you have right here, right now. Look at just today, what can you control. Don’t just think about the big things in life, have a think about the small things too. These are the things that matter.
If you are struggling, try writing down the little positives. It can be very therapeutic.
Have a great week.
