Miles for Mind

on

I’ve not been feeling great recently. A mixture of the January blues, lockdown and all in between.

Running has been a big part of my life for a good few years. It’s something that provides me time to process my thoughts. Over the last few months it became a chore and I found that I wasn’t enjoying it as much and running less.

During the first lockdown I was running everyday and last May I signed up for Runr’s Miles for Mind. This is a month long event where you pledge to run a certain distance over that month. It helped fill that void of race cancellations. There is a medal on completion too (it’s all about the medal!!). The most important thing though is that it raises funds for the mental health charity Mind.

Miles For Mind brings people together to raise money & awareness for mental health through running and in 2020, the Miles For Mind community raised over £268,000 for Mind which is incredible!”

My running for 2021 needs a boost, therefore I have signed up to run 100 miles in February. It helped me last year and I’m confident it will do the same again.

Why don’t you join me? You can sign up and choose your own distance at https://www.runr.co.uk/collections/miles-for-mind
