Pets and your Wellbeing

Pets have always been part of my life. We’ve had many animals that have all been part of the family.

We recently moved overseas and out of the blue we got asked if we wanted to take in a tortoise. Of course we had to accept.

Meet Leo

NiH states that interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.
