I am writing this from a sun lounger by the pool, having a very relaxing pool day. Exactly what I needed after recent events in my life.
I have been thinking about… thinking recently! I refer to the way we think, and sometimes the words, labels and mindsets we hold. Sometimes these labels can be negative.
Let me give you an example:
I have to go to work.
This has a negative meaning and can affect how we feel. Hard to feel positive with a thought like that. Finding ways to modify thoughts like this can really help us feel gratitude and some positivity.
Instead of I have to go to work try, I get to go to work.
A simple shift in the though there pushes you in a more positive place. This is not an easy thing to do, it takes time and practice, but it could have a profoundly positive impact on your life.
Many people also have a mind set of fear when it comes to being alone or doing things individually.
This is something I have had to overcome in recent years. I solo travel, even overseas. I used to constantly worry about the perception of being alone.
I combated this negativity with a few simple words:
I am not alone, I am by myself.
Minor tweaks to how we think can be life changing.
You can start simply by writing it down. Take something small , write it down then try and edit the words to a positive.
I have to get up today becomes I get to get up today.
This shows some positivity: I am able to get up, I am a alive and can start a day.
None of this is easy, but might be a turning point for some one.
