Blog: Change never stops

on

Happy Friday

I hope everyone is well.

The heatwave has continued all week here in Palmanova, Majorca. I have therefore spent most of the time by the pool to try and keep cool.

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been doing a lot of thinking and forming plans in my head for the new couple of months, which are set to be a period of significant change in my life. I think it has been very good to have some time to figure out what I want and to then make a few plans to achieve that. I have big changes ahead over the summer.

Change is scary. It can be really unsettling. I know I personally dislike uncertainty, it can make me fall into a spiral of overthinking if I don’t use some of my coping techniques. I am aiming to try and positively manage these imminent changes.

Change is inevitable, nothing lasts forever. Its rare we can alter the path of change. What falls into our control is how we react to it.  Our ability to positively cope and weather  changes, that is our resilience.

Sometimes I feel we have to just embrace the unknown. Right now that is where I am at on several paths. There are some big unknowns and very few certainties over the next six weeks. But I am going to embrace this the best I can. I figured out what I want for me, and I’ve also opened my mind to larger opportunities.

I won’t go into too much detail today as things are still very much up in the air, but I will likely be writing more on the topic of change over the coming weeks.

Have a think about how you endured change in the past. What worked? What didn’t? It’s a great way to boost resilience.
