Not Lazy, Just Loading

Low motivation is often misunderstood as laziness or lack of discipline, when in reality it is frequently a response to pressure, exhaustion or emotional overload. In a world that constantly pushes productivity and progress, struggling to get started can feel like a personal failure rather than a sign that something deeper needs attention.

With Mental Health Awareness Week focusing on taking action for our mental health, its important to reframe how we think about motivation. Feeling stuck is not a flaw- it is feedback. It suggests that our minds and bodies may be asking for rest, clarity, or support, not more self-criticism.

This article explores practical, realistic advice for moments when motivation feels out of reach- reminding us that caring for our mental health is an active decision, even when progress feels small.
