Hello and welcome to your annual reminder that Blue Monday is a complete fad. The media would like to tell you today is the most depressing day of the year. How many of you have heard something about Blue Monday today? I for one have seen it a few times, even had a few marketing emails along the lines of “don’t let blue Monday get you down” buy our products.

Blue Monday was created by a travel company called Sky Travel, as a marketing campaign to get people to book a holiday. That’s it, there’s nothing more to it than a marketing campaign (or a song by New Order).

This giant farse that is Blue Monday has led to the campaign “Brew Monday” from the Samaritans – are more beneficial day to recognise.

Its ok not to be ok – any day of the year. Be kind to yourself and reach out for the support when you need it.

My most difficult day of the year is January 13 each year – I’m grateful for those who supported me on Saturday.
